You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Mitchell on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Classical Prep Lions out of the water with a 43-6 final score. Considering the Mustangs have won seven matchups by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mitchell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adelyn Taliafero, who threw for 218 yards and five TDs while completing 74.3% of her passes. Taliafero is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Breena Duffy was in the mix as well, providing Mitchell with two touchdowns.

Mitchell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ariana Haston and Maia Clarke.

Mitchell pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.2 points over those games. As for Classical Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Coming up, Mitchell will look to defend their home field on Monday against Springstead at 5:30 p.m. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 7.9 points per game this season, so the Mustangs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Classical Prep, they will head out to square off against Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
