Soccer Recap: Archbishop Alter Comes Up Short

Archbishop Alter and Mariemont squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Archbishop Alter had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Archbishop Alter couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Katie Kyre, who's now up to four this season.

Archbishop Alter's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2-4. As for Mariemont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Archbishop Alter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mariemont, they will take on Indian Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mariemont will need to watch out since Indian Hill have now posted at least four goals in their last four contests.
