Softball Recap: Peninsula's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

Peninsula dropped their record down to 12-8 on Friday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Timberline Blazers by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-9 back in April.

Izzy Michaels was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Miranda, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

As for Timberline, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 13-4 record this season. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

On Timberline's side, Nevaeh Haagen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Haagen was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played.

Haagen wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Porsha Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Kayleese Dorfner was another, earning three runs.

Looking ahead, Peninsula will head out to face off against Fife at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Timberline, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-1 victory against Gig Harbor on the 5th.
