Softball Recap: River Hill Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when River Hill faced off against Centennial on Monday. The Hawks came up short against the Eagles, falling 20-5. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 8-1.

River Hill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Juliet Handelman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was Handelman's first of the season. Another was Alexis Fath, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

River Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Centennial, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Looking ahead, River Hill will welcome Atholton at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Centennial, they will venture away from home to take on Mt. Hebron at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 12.2 runs per game this season.
