Basketball Recap: Douglass' Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Douglass Bulldogs beat the Goessel Bluebirds 41-36.

Douglass found their leader in freshman Brody Rush, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 21 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Rush.

Douglass' win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Goessel, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Douglass will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bluestem on January 7, 2025. Goessel will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Peabody-Burns at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
