Football Recap: Merritt Oilers vs. Watonga Eagles
Merritt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 28-6 to the Watonga Eagles. The Oilers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Kelan Estep was nothing short of spectacular for Watonga: he rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 80 yards and a touchdown. Those 136 rushing yards gave Estep a new career-high.
Merritt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Watonga, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-9.
