Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Nyack

Nyack won the last time they faced Rye and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Red Hawks came out on top against the Garnets by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Hawks.

Haley Serrano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Purcell, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isabella Policastro, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Nyack's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Nyack wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-2 victory against Yonkers on the 2nd. As for Rye, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mahopac at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th.
