Softball Game Preview: Waconia Wildcats vs. Orono Spartans

The Waconia Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Orono Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Waconia has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Waconia faced off against Jefferson on Wednesday. The Wildcats lost 14-2 to the Jaguars. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Waconia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ady Dhaene, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Orono and Delano, and Delano kept the tradition alive. The Spartans came up short against the Tigers on Wednesday, falling 9-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.

Waconia's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Orono, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Waconia couldn't quite get it done against Orono when the teams last played back in April as they fell 5-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
