Baseball Recap: Charlotte Latin Takes a Loss

Providence Day hit Charlotte Latin with a five-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks came up short against the Chargers, falling 10-3. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Charlotte Latin got a good showing from Jackson Coble, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Coble has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Avery Booker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Charlotte Latin's loss dropped their record down to 18-4-1. As for Providence Day, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-11.
