Dexter and Portales played the most hotly contested game in 2A District 4 this week, with Dexter eventually emerging with a 15-14 victory.
The Demons made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,850 from 10,177. The advance stemmed from a 15-14 victory over the Rams last week.
New Mexico Military Institute's Blade Allen and Kilian Cahill have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Allen has thrown for 275 yards this season, while Cahill, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has seven catches for 131 yards. Dylan Frank from Eunice leads the league in rushing with 336 yards.
