Softball Recap: Cabrini Monarchs vs. Bishop Foley Ventures
Cabrini extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-16 in the process. They lost 18-0 to the Bishop Foley Ventures. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ventures this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on Thursday.
As for Bishop Foley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Bishop Foley's part, Emma Behnke made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Behnke was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Abbey Jones was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Leah Rovner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.
Coming up, Cabrini will face off against Clarenceville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Foley, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Lamphere at 4:30 p.m.
