Softball Game Preview: Idaho Falls Tigers vs. Skyline Grizzlies

For the second straight game, Idaho Falls will face off against Skyline. The Tigers will challenge the Grizzlies at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Idaho Falls is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Idaho Falls came up short against Skyline and fell 14-9.

For Skyline's part, Maggie Young made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up eight earned (and one unearned) runs off 13 hits. With that strong performance, Young is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Skyline let Traeley Schwartz and Bella Jensen run wild. Schwartz scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Jensen scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits Schwartz has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamree Christensen, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Skyline and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Idaho Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
