Basketball Recap: Collins Family's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Collins Family ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They secured a 57-53 W over the USC-MAE Trojans.

When it comes to explaining why USC-MAE lost, don't look at Adrion Gilbert. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 31 points and 29 boards. Aiden Godinez was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Collins Family's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-2. As for USC-MAE, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

After both having extra time off, Collins Family and East College Prep will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 2:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for USC-MAE, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 77-22 defeat against Manual Arts on the 6th.
