Basketball Recap: Batavia Comes Up Short

Batavia suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2024 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 57-26 loss at the hands of the Peoria Notre Dame Irish. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ali Thomas, who posted six points and 11 rebounds. Thomas is becoming a predictor of Batavia's success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is 15-6 (and 1-2 when she doesn't).

Batavia dropped their record down to 16-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Peoria Notre Dame, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Batavia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-24 win against Wheaton North on the 29th. Peoria Notre Dame has also already played their next contest, a 72-39 victory against Abingdon/Avon on the 30th.
