Basketball Recap: Okeechobee's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Okeechobee was feeling good fresh off their 48-24 takedown of Moore Haven on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Okeechobee Brahmans received a blow on Saturday as they fell 52-37 to the Glades Central Raiders. The Brahmans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Brahmans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Jasper, who posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Jaleik Brifil was another key player, putting up eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Okeechobee's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for Glades Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Okeechobee has already played their next contest, a 52-47 defeat against Jensen Beach on the 14th. As for Glades Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-56 victory against Pahokee on the 15th.
