Basketball Game Preview: Penns Manor Comets vs. Northern Cambria Colts

The Penns Manor Comets and the Northern Cambria Colts will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Penns Manor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.

Penns Manor is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against River Valley by a score of 71-58 on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Comets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Panthers are ranked 108th).

It was another big night for Alex Polenik, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high. Dylan Kuzemchak was another key player, going 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Penns Manor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Northern Cambria came up short against Conemaugh Township on Thursday and fell 57-46.

Penns Manor now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Northern Cambria, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.

Penns Manor was taken down by Northern Cambria 68-28 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Penns Manor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
