Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas' Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 74-50 to the Boulder City Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-45 back in January.

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleb Elliott, who posted 19 points. The dominant performance gave Elliott a new career-high in points. Caleb Wingate was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.

Sean Pendleton was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 12 on his way to 20 points for Boulder City. Pendleton has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Birch, who went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points.

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas' loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Boulder City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas will head out to take on The Meadows School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (The Meadows School has won four straight at home, while Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Boulder City, they will host Pahrump Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
