Baseball Game Preview: Carlson Marauders vs. Woodhaven Warriors

Carlson hasn't had much luck against Woodhaven recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Marauders will face off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Carlson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Carlson proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Edsel Ford, sneaking past 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Marauders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Noah Borowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carlson secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Preston Eighmey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Woodhaven was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Churchill. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Carlson's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-9. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Woodhaven, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.

Carlson came up short against Woodhaven when the teams last played back in April, falling 6-3. Can the Marauders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
