Basketball Recap: Nowata Comes Up Short

Nowata was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against the South Coffeyville Lions, falling 57-20. While losing is never fun, the Ironmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Lions are ranked 104th).

Nowata's loss dropped their record down to 0-10-1. As for South Coffeyville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Nowata didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-18 win against Oklahoma Union on the 17th. As for South Coffeyville, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the South Coffeyville Lions challenge the Welch Wildcats at 9:00 p.m. on January 24th.
