Basketball Recap: Manatee Takes a Loss

Manatee's last matchup with Bayshore could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Hurricanes lost 69-48 to the Bruins. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jamale Bane went supernovafor Bayshore, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Those 16 boards gave Bane a new career-high. Imari Thomas was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Manatee's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Bayshore, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manatee will face off against Lennard at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bayshore, they will square off against Palmetto at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
