For the first time this season, Oak Hill will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Oak Hill sitting on three straight victories and Alexandria-Monroe on six.
Oak Hill came out on top against Lewis Cass on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 6-1 win over the Kings.

Karsyn Wiley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Ry-Ry Myers was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Alexandria-Monroe never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Anderson with a sharp 16-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won four games by more than 15 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brynlee Humphries made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Alexandria-Monroe got a massive performance out of Kinley Webb, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Stella Griffin was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and one double.
Alexandria-Monroe pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average this season. As for Oak Hill, their record now sits at 5-2.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oak Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .398. However, it's not like Alexandria-Monroe struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oak Hill suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Alexandria-Monroe in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
