Soccer Recap: Rio Rico Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sahuaro last Wednesday, Rio Rico came back down to earth. The Rio Rico Hawks fell just short of the Walden Grove Red Wolves by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Red Wolves: they've now lost seven in a row.

Rio Rico now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Walden Grove, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Rico will head out to square off against Sabino at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Rio Rico is facing Sabino at the right time seeing as Sabino is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Walden Grove, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
