Recap: Stargate School Eagles vs. Forge Christian Fury
After flying high against The Pinnacle Timberwolves back in December of 2023, the Stargate School Eagles came back down to earth. Stargate School took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Forge Christian on Thursday. Stargate School has not had much luck with Forge Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Stargate School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hunter Roark. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Connor Rusch, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Forge Christian found their leader in underclassman Levi Clark, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Clark pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Miller, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Stargate School's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. As for Forge Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Stargate School will head out on the road to challenge Regis Groff at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Regis Groff is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.2 points per game. Forge Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Addenbrooke Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Addenbrooke Classical Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
