Softball Recap: Mcbain Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for McBain, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the St. Mary Cathedral Eagles on Saturday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. Considering the Ramblers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Ady Haskin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Aubrie Kamphouse was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Paisleigh Magnan, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

McBain's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Ramblers beat St. Mary Cathedral by a score of 17-1 later that day.
