Basketball Game Preview: Manor Mustangs vs. Vista Ridge Rangers

Manor and Vista Ridge are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Manor Mustangs will face off against the Vista Ridge Rangers at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Manor has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Vista Ridge will arrive with three straight victories.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-24, which was the final score in Manor's tilt against Vandegrift on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1004th, while the Vipers are ranked 163rd).

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Vista Ridge over Cedar Ridge in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Vista Ridge put the hurt on Cedar Ridge with a sharp 65-39 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Rangers have posted since December 12, 2024.

Vista Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Manor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
