Baseball Recap: St. Francis Takes a Loss

St. Francis fell victim to Williamsville North and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Red Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

St. Francis has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12-1 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Williamsville North, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will host Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Williamsville North, they will be playing at home against Orchard Park at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Spartans have won three straight at home, while the Quakers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
