Baseball Recap: Seven Straight Home Victories for Lyons

There's no place like home for Lyons, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Providence Catholic Celtics 7-6. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Celtics on Saturday, too.

Kevin (Mac) McCarthy looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Lyons' win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Blake Ragsdale, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Lyons pushed their record up to 21-10-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Providence Catholic, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-12.

As of now, neither Lyons nor the Celtics have any future games scheduled.
