Basketball Game Preview: Patrick County Cougars vs. North Stokes Vikings

The Patrick County Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the North Stokes Vikings at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Patrick County is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

On Wednesday, Patrick County had just enough and edged out Staunton River 44-41.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Stokes). They secured a 76-72 W over Chatham Central on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Vikings' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 447th, while the Bears are ranked 223rd).

Patrick County's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for North Stokes, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Patrick County beat North Stokes 70-58 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
