Basketball Recap: Summit Charter Takes a Loss

Summit Charter lost against Highlands back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between the Summit Charter Bears and the Highlands Highlanders didn't end well, with the Summit Charter Bears falling 55-41. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Summit Charter still got an impressive performance from Chance Wilson, who posted 18 points and four steals. That was a full 43.9% of Summit Charter's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Frankie Marquina, who had eight points and nine rebounds.

Summit Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Highlands, they moved to 5-12 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Summit Charter has already played their next contest, a 66-47 victory against Shining Rock Classical Academy on the 30th. As for Highlands, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-50 loss against Swain County on the 27th.
