Baseball Recap: Wayne County Takes a Loss

Wayne County extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 8-11. They fell 15-10 to the East Central Hornets. Even if the War Eagles couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

As for East Central, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-11 record. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

For East Central's part, Wyatt Garrard was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Garrard a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Pacey Baria, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and three doubles.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Central beat Wayne County by a score of 15-3 on Friday.
