Softball Recap: Harvard Ellis Tech Wins Going Away Against Goodwin Tech

Harvard Ellis Tech won the last time they faced Goodwin Tech and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles blew past the Gladiators 16-4. Considering the Eagles have won five matchups by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rose Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Lopez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Ava Ethier was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with five runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Khloe Volle, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Harvard Ellis Tech has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.5 runs over those games. As for Goodwin Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harvard Ellis Tech will challenge Windham RVT at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goodwin Tech, they will head out to square off against Grasso Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
