Basketball Recap: Salida Falls Short of Denver Christian in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Salida couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 50-31 to the Denver Christian Thunder. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Denver Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Bohannon, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Bohannon has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Kamiree Fuller was another key player, shooting 55% from the field en route to 13 points and six boards.

Salida moved to 21-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Denver Christian, they pushed their record up to 25-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Salida does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Denver Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-49 win against Wiggins on the 14th.
