            Softball Recap: Bastrop Rams vs. Richwood Rams        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Family Community Christian, Bastrop was happy to have turned things around  on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Richwood  a   7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Bastrop, who have now won six matches by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
 Taraji Battle made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  triple and one  RBI. That  triple marked the first that  she  hit this season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Aerianna Williams, who  scored a  run and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in both of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Khloe Carr, who  scored a  run and  stole three bases.

 Bastrop  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of 1.000. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in April of 2024.
Bastrop's victory bumped their record up to 8-11-1. As for Richwood, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the  defeat, which was their tenth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bastrop will square off against Forest at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.47  runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Richwood, they will face off against Sterlington at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
