La Junta won the last time they faced Florence, and Katalina Salas did her part to make sure it happened again. The La Junta Tigers came out on top against the Florence Huskies by a score of 25-16 on Friday thanks in part to Salas, who posted ten points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%).

Florence's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaydence Martinez, who earned ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.

La Junta has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points over those games. Florence's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Junta will welcome Pueblo Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Florence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Junta at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
