Basketball Recap: Kiley Shatzel Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dumont

Jefferson Township had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 48-36 victory over the Dumont Huskies on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jefferson Township to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiley Shatzel, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Shatzel has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played. Emma Barone was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.

Jefferson Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Jefferson Township pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Dumont, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
