Soccer Game Preview: Redmond vs. Newport - Bellevue

The Redmond Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Newport - Bellevue Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Redmond's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Friday, Redmond came up short against Skyline and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Newport - Bellevue earned a 3-1 victory over Issaquah on Friday. Given Newport - Bellevue's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Issaquah are ranked 103rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newport - Bellevue has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five contests. As for Redmond, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Redmond beat Newport - Bellevue by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 4-3. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
