Volleyball Recap: First Academy Eagles vs. Leesburg Yellow Jackets
First Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leesburg Yellow Jackets. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2019.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 15-25, 28-26.
Even though they lost, First Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August.
Leading Leesburg to victory were Sophia Ross and Jaiden Anderson. Ross had 11 digs and two aces, while Anderson had 11 digs and seven kills. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in the last three games she's played.
First Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Leesburg, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Academy will square off against Leesburg at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Leesburg, they will challenge Eustis at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
