Heritage Academy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Maricopa Institute of Technology Iron Eagles a 17-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 26-0 back in February.

Addy Gillespie made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jordyn Taylor was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Reiss, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Heritage Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Maricopa Institute of Technology, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy will square off against Imagine Prep Superstition at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maricopa Institute of Technology, they will face off against Imagine Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
