Baseball Recap: Pleasant Valley Takes a Loss

Pleasant Valley fell victim to Foothill and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 8-0 to the Cougars. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Pleasant Valley got a good showing from Holden Franks, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Franks has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pleasant Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Greyson Christie, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Pleasant Valley dropped their record down to 7-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Foothill, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Pleasant Valley will challenge Enterprise at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Hornets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Foothill, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against McKinleyville on the 5th.
