Softball Recap: Lejeune Devil Pups vs. Northside - Pinetown Panthers

Lejeune extended their losing streak to 12 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-15-1 in the process. They came up short against the Northside - Pinetown Panthers, falling 17-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Tuesday.

Lejeune saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Northside - Pinetown, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

On Northside - Pinetown's side, they got a great performance from Allie Davis as she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Davis a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Megan Hopkins, who fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsey White, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Lejeune nor Northside - Pinetown have any future games scheduled.
