Tate McNew had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 73 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 194 yards on 13 of 20 attempts. The victory made it two in a row for Maize South and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Valley Center, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Maize South came up short against Valley Center in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 34-27. Thankfully for Maize South, Daimont Mucker (who rushed for 288 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
