Basketball Recap: Wayne Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Wayne Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 48-18 defeat at the hands of the Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-18 last Thursday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Faith Baptist Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emree Mattingly, who posted 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Mattingly has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Sophie Sellars was another key player, going 6 for 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Wayne Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8.

Looking ahead, Wayne Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Victory Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Baptist Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
