Langston Hughes came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Newnan Cougars 75-43. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-52 back in January.

Despite the loss, Newnan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaylin Brown posted 17 points and four steals. Carston Reese also deserves some recognition as he scored his first point of the season.

Langston Hughes pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Newnan, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-7.
