Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Federal Way Eagles, falling 74-24. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Eagles are ranked 48th).

Despite the defeat, Jefferson saw an underclassman step up: freshman Khamari Johnson posted 14 points. Johnson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Federal Way, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Jefferson will challenge Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Decatur is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season. As for Federal Way, they are taking a road trip to square off against Beamer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Federal Way knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Beamer likes a good challenge.
