Trenton is 9-1 against Union County since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Trenton Tigers will challenge the Union County Fightin' Tigers. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Trenton is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bell: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Trenton blew Bell out of the water with a 64-16 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established a 40 point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trenton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Ridgell, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of BB Ford, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Trenton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Union County came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 76-41 win over the Trojans. Given the Fightin' Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Trojans are ranked 711th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Union County has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Trenton, their record is now 14-10.

Trenton came out on top in a nail-biter against Union County in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 52-49. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Union County's Gavin Jenkins, who went 11 for 18 en route to 25 points and five steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Trenton still be able to contain Jenkins? There's only one way to find out.
