Softball Recap: Redlands Comes Up Short

Redlands entered their matchup against Summit on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Terriers fell 9-5 to the SkyHawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Terriers of the 10-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2020.

Mallary Conway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Redlands saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Akimoto, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Redlands' loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Summit, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Redlands wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-8 defeat against La Sierra on the 27th. As for Summit, they have also already played their next game, a 14-13 victory against Cajon on the 31st.
