The Bristol Warriors will head out to face off against Plumstead Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Bristol is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
While Bristol's victory against Collegium Charter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Cougar on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since March 19th.

Eddy Diaz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cole Guy was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Bristol: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Brady Slate was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Bristol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Collegium Charter only posted an OBP of .343.
Meanwhile, Plumstead Christian owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. Everything went their way against Calvary Christian Academy as they made off with a 6-0 win. Considering Plumstead Christian has won six matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Bristol, Plumstead Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Declan Glass. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over eight innings pitched. Glass has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Santi Torres, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Asher Franklin also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
The victory made it two in a row for Plumstead Christian and bumps their season record up to 6-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Bristol, their record is now 9-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bristol has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Plumstead Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bristol took their victory against Plumstead Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
