Basketball Recap: Ness City Drops Season-High Score on Trego

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ness City). They came out on top against the Trego Golden Eagles by a score of 65-54 on Saturday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 53.2 points per game.

Ness City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cadyn Harley led the charge by going 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Harley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Broxton Gall, who posted six points in addition to ten assists and four steals.

The victory got Ness City back to even at 2-2. As for Trego, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ness City is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Hodgeman County at 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Hodgeman County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ness City surely won't give up without a fight. Trego will take on Decatur Community in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
