Basketball Game Preview: Verona Hillbillies vs. Weequahic Indians

The Verona Hillbillies will venture away from home to face off against the Weequahic Indians at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Thursday, Verona was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-36 to Barringer.

Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Weequahic made off with a 52-51 win over Tech. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Verona has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Weequahic, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Everything went Verona's way against Weequahic in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Verona made off with a 53-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Verona since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
