 It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Jay had no problem doing just that  on Tuesday. They blew past the Holmes County Blue Devils 12-3. The result was nothing new for Jay, who have now won ten games by six  runs or more  so far this season.
  Wyatt Peaden was  excellent,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Ryan Starosta, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with  an  RBI.
 On Holmes County's side,  Bradley Garrett put in work no matter where he played. He  pitched 3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Garrett has been consistent recently: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. Garrett was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Garrett wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jameson Bacon, who  went 1-for-2 with a  home run. Bacon has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 Even though they lost, Holmes County  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with nine  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jay only tossed four.
 The  win (which was Jay's fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-10. As for Holmes County, their record is now 16-10.
 Jay will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against Paxton at 7:00  p.m. Paxton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7  runs per game  this season. Holmes County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
